Where stories of high-precision ceramics come into being.
Founded in 1977 by Sigifredo Raffin and two specialist technical shareholders, Savar began operating in the industrial ceramics sector at Torre Boldone, in the northern Italian province of Bergamo. Thanks to a combination of electrotechnical expertise and advanced, high-tech ceramics, the company rapidly garnered a solid reputation for the manufacture of high-quality porcelain fuses. Over the years since then, Savar has continued to expand, innovate and invest in new technologies, while maintining an unerring commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. Today, Savar is a business recognised internationally for the manufacture of high-precision technical ceramics, offering flexible, customised solutions to an extensive array of industrial sectors.
1977
Savar is established at Torre Boldone (province of Bergamo) by Sigifredo Raffin and other shareholders.
1978
Sigifredo Raffin becomes the sole proprietor.
1980s
Company expansion and partnerships with major businesses: Italweber S.p.A., Vimar S.p.A., Bayer S.p.A. and Scame Parre S.p.A.
1985
Transfer to the new headquarters at Stezzano, near the city of Bergamo.
1990s
Construction of silos for the storage of raw materials.
1999
Entry into the business of Manolo Raffin, Sigifredo's son, in the role of chemist.
2005
Acquisition of an additional facility next to the headquarters, expansion of the working areas and of the warehouse.
2018
Expansion of the facility and construction of a modern, three-storey office block.
2024
Overhaul and modernisation: construction of a research and development laboratory, testing of raw materials on arrival, and quality-control testing of the manufactured products.
